Explore Sekai No Yamachan Shibuya Center Street Store

Tucked away on the second floor of the 蓬莱屋ビル in Shibuya, Sekai No Yamachan Shibuya Center Street Store is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves bold flavors and a lively izakaya experience. This branch stands out with its modern, cozy interior that’s surprisingly spacious compared to other Yamachan locations, giving diners room to relax without feeling cramped. The menu is a playground for chicken wing enthusiasts, with the black pepper wings stealing the spotlight-they’re crispy, juicy, and packed with a punch that keeps people coming back. Beyond wings, the Taiwan Yakisoba and horumon yakisoba are popular picks, offering rich, savory noodles with a touch of spice that pairs perfectly with a cold drink. Speaking of drinks, the variety here is impressive, from classic lemon sours to unique options like Okinawa pineapple shochu, umeshu on the rocks, and yuzu-infused liqueurs. For those looking for something heartier, the miso motsunabe hotpot brings a comforting warmth and depth of flavor that complements the lighter dishes. The setup includes both counter seating and tables, making it a great fit for solo visitors or groups, though it’s noted that the space isn’t particularly geared toward kids. Prices are slightly higher than more budget-friendly chains like Torikizoku, but the quality and generous portions make it worth every yen. Whether it’s a quick lunch at noon-something this Shibuya branch offers, unlike many other Yamachan locations-or a late evening dinner with friends, the combination of tasty food, extensive drinks, and a clean, inviting environment makes for a memorable dining experience. It’s easy to see why this spot has become a favorite for both locals and travelers who find themselves wandering through Shibuya’s vibrant streets.

Budget friendly izakaya in the middle of shibuya. Great atmosphere with affordable drinks. Menu is extensive with lots of options (almost too many) but the portions are great to share.

We love their chicken wings with black pepper! It taste really good! The Taiwan Yakisoba also delicious but quite spicy. The drinks menu also great — they have wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Not so kids friendly, but they have counter and the tables.

Love the wings here, do get it spicier for full flavor. The kurokke, agedashi tofu, fried rice, yakisoba, butter toast with ice cream and red bean were all delicious. The shochu based drinks and kids drinks were also terrific. I did wish the cups came in bigger sizes though. We seemed to order every drink twice. If you need service, there's a bell you can ring. There's a man and woman small bathroom here. Every time you order something they'll update the bill. We had maybe 8 different receipts. You can hang your coat on the wall, sit back relax and have a drink here for a relaxing time.

I was surprised this yamachan restaurant has a different vibe than the rest. It’s like modern, with the interiors being so different from a normal izakaya vibes of yamachan restaurants in other branches. The food is good as always. When you need peppery spicy chicken wings, yamachan is always the best place to go. They don’t have the Wings Tower that we used to order in Kansai, maybe it varies per branch. The wings spiciness can be adjusted it seems but the staff didn’t asked for it so I guess we got the default. Need to order one drink per person. They have wide selection of drinks so it was okay. Had fun although we were seated at the corner, and the aircon couldn’t reach where we were. It felt like I was on a sauna while eating dinner.

When I went to Nagoya four months ago, I missed the chance to see this original purveyor of Japanese style chicken wings (Tebasaki). Thankfully, they opened a branch in Shibuya and this time, I dragged a friend out for snacks at this place. Two items in the menu hit the spot a multiple times (so much that we had seconds and was thinking of thirds). The tebasaki, of course (one portion comes with five wings and a suggestion on how to eat it clean to the bones) was phenomenal. The peppery spice ignites the crispy, juicy and tender wings. Another star is the soy sauce yakisoba, which was al dente and lovingly combined with sweet onions and cabbage. A perfect drinking food or even to just get as a snack as you shuffle through your Tokyo itinerary. Gochisosama!

Hit up this spot on Saturday night and totally loved the vibe! It’s super cozy and clean with loads of seats. The staff here are on another level — super attentive and just make the experience better. It's a great place to chill. You’ve gotta try the chicken wings! Plus, the prices are pretty cool. Definitely check it out!

This Yamachan place became our go to restaurant whenever we are in Tokyo It’s open at 12nn unlike other Yamachan branches which open only at 5pm. This Yamachan is cozy and clean, modern vibe with lots of space versus Shinjuku branch. We always order the horumon yakisoba and 2 plates of wings hehehee this time we ordered miso motsunabe (intensines hotpot l) and all were amazing! Loved every single part of it. For drinks, we tried lemon sour, okinawa pineapple shochu, umeshu on the rocks, yuzushu on the rocks and umeshu with hot water. I must say it’s hard not to get another drink but my top are the okinawa pineapple and umeshu Note that the prices are higher than Torikizoku but still affordable hehehe Will be back!!!

Yamachan chain newly opened in Shibuya. The best wings as always along with tasty izakaya food. If you haven’t been and you are a chicken wing fan, the wings here a game changing.
